PAG: Type (Pain Descriptors)

Every line item on a PAG should start with a descriptor for the type of pain, discomfort or anxiety it holds for you.  There's no right or wrong word, only words that make the most sense to you.  If the words I use on my PAGs make sense to you, use them.  If another word is better, use that.  Here's a list of some descriptors you may want to chose from:

Sharp   Dull   Stabbing   Throbbing   Pressure   Squeezing   Grinding   Tingling   Stinging   Aching   Burning   Shock  Isolated   Radiating   Numbing   Jarring   Cramping   Claustrophobic   Suffocating   Panic

Now try to associate a particular pain incident with each descriptor.  For example, you might choose throbbing to describe a headache.  Or maybe instead you would choose Stabbing, Dull or Sharp as descriptors for a headache.  Maybe you’d use a combination of two or more descriptors, such as dull throbbing, for the sort of headache you might suffer from.  These descriptors and others like them are the kind of words you'd use in the Type column.
