Pre-Transplant: X-Ray
An
X-Ray is a medical imaging test that uses a portion of the electro-magnetic
energy spectrum to evaluate the skeletal system along with some soft tissues,
such as lungs and intestines. The
radiation exposure a patient will see during a normal x-ray test is about the
same as the background radiation a person typically sees in ten days. This test is physically painless. Additionally I, personally, have never
experienced any emotional anxiety in conjunction with this test. Two images are generally taken; a chest X-Ray
and one of your lower skull/jaw area.
